Laminate and Adhesives
Take a look at the USA CAT Laminator for solvent adhesives and the new waterbase Laminator. Either Laminator can be used for both water and solvent based glue. But for more specific application, the Laminator can be converted back and forth with a change in air caps.
Binks and DeVilbiss do not have specialty guns specific for laminates and glues, however, they do have guns setups that work with your glue setups.
What makes the Laminator Different
All Teflon coated spray equipment (like a nonstick frying pan) - The body of the spray gun and air cap are teflon anodized. This prevents buildup and allows for easy cleaning. Now you can, simply wipe the front of your gun and the adhesives comes right off, quick and easy, with this non stick surface.
Specialized Air Cap Design - The gun atomizes the glue slightly away from the air cap to prevent buildup on the front of the gun. Buildup is a major problem with adheasives. This special design means less clogging and increases production time. New waterbase version has less atomizing holes and also allows for more consistency and longer use times. The Specialized waterbase cap design also prevents shering and dry edges caused by traditional spray equipment. .
Stop Leakage from the front of the gun. All Laminators guns come with a stronger spring for more consistent shut off control and less dripping on the front of the nozzle. Binks, Devibliss and other guns were not designed for the "on and off" application of most adhesives. Thus most guns have leakage and dripping problems at the front of the gun. Glue is sticky and this causes clogging and becomes messy. The Laminator Series does not have this problem.
What Tip size do I use. 66SS 1.8?
There are 2 types of ahesives. 1.8 tip size is for traditional industrial glues. These are thicker formulated glues used in industry such as duckwork and flooring. There is a new type of laminate glue on the market which uses a 1.2-1.5 tip set. These are from great manufactuers like 3M and Wilson Art and used for finer application and many woodoworking applications. We carry both sizes.
Other Tip Sets for other applications: Uphostery and leater - 1.2-1.3 Setups.
*The New Conventionals
Modern Technology
Gun in the Example - The new conventionals. Saving you 30-40% of your materials and lowering overpsray while while not affecting finishing speed. They are truely amazing. See it in action against an HVLP spray gun in the next section below. We recommend these highly.
