"This
year, I gave up and purchased a professional gun... and all I can say
is what a difference!!!!"
"I've
bought cheaper tools in the past and many times you end up spending more
because you have to go out and buy the same tool again except a better
brand or model because the first one was a piece of junk, but it was cheap...The
higher quality guns, especially the good HVLP's in my experience, allow
you to be much more precise in the amount put into the gun and also onto
your project."
Most stores do not know a thing about spray guns. What the Tip sizes are, what viscosity and spraying conditioners are available. Plus you have to be careful, most spray guns are configured for the automotive or industrial markets. Wood is right in between, you want a smooth car like finish but the paints tend to be thicker than automotive and thinner than industrial. So you have a size 6 foot and the shoes are all 4 and 8. Not a good fit for your foot!
We get calls every day that start "I bought this inexpensive spray gun ($30-$120) at my local store and I'm not happy with the finish"... (Usually fiddling with the gun for days and wasting time and paint). The old adage that you get what you pay for is somewhat true.

• We only sell Professional Guns that have been used and tested in the field. We have access to lower lines that we REFUSE to sell. Cost on some Chinese imports selling for $60 at your local chain store cost only $12. That's right $12. If we sold "junk" with our normal markup we would sell that gun to you for $14.00, not $60.
• We sell direct to the public so EVERYTHING is discounted. Our $75 spray gun is really a $150 or more in the retail store. Our $200 gun are well over $300 at local paint shops. A paint store is selling paint and does not sell a large volume of guns to warrant a big discount.
• Finally, size does matter! You don't do it with your shoes, so don't do it with your tools. Most Retail and many online stores do not have the space or desire to stock all the different sizes of spray guns available. You will notice most of our guns have multiple tip options. That is because, if you are familiar with wood products, you know stains are different from lacquers which are different from latex. If you go to your local store, they only stock a few gun, and they are all usually a generic setup. In contrast, woodsprayguns match your spray gun to the materials you are using for the surface on which you are spraying and we give you the option and information of adding additional setups for future expansion. Our goal is to help you get the best finish possible with the least amount of headache.

*But why are good guns more expensive? These are called guns for a reason. It is actually not easy to manufacture good spray guns. Tolerance levels are very high and precision craftsmanship is necessary. In addition, guns have many moving parts and take much abuse in the shop. If you can imagine taking 40-50 pounds weight in your hand and smashing a 1 millimeter drop of liquid into a smoke like, perfectly smooth and even 8"-12" pattern you could imagine how difficult that task is and how exact and precisely you have to strike that liquid. The tolerance for error on such a task is very small.
